Sometimes, the view from a jobsite is worth slowing down for.

This one brought us right to the marsh, where the roof wasn’t the only thing catching Ashley’s attention. Between checking out the roof with the drone and pointing out local birds to the homeowner, there was plenty to take in.

Hope y’all are finding a little time to slow down and enjoy the view this Labor Day weekend, too.

Sometimes the best thing a roofer can tell you is, “You don’t need a new roof.” 🐻

After this homeowner was told they needed a replacement to keep their insurance coverage, Andrea inspected the roof and found otherwise.

Instead of selling them something they didn’t need, she offered honest guidance and helped them understand their options.

That’s the kind of trust we want to earn.

Just two weeks until we get to do it again. 🏠🔨

Something you may not know about the Habitat roofs you see us working on: there’s a much bigger program helping make them possible.

Through GAF’s Community Contractor Program, certified contractors like Big Bear can donate their labor to qualifying Habitat for Humanity projects while GAF helps provide the roofing materials needed to get the job done.

And this isn’t happening in just our corner of South Carolina. In 2025 alone, GAF donated 708 roofs through its Community Contractor Program.

We’re proud to be one of the contractors able to put that program to work right here at home, alongside Habitat for Humanity of Berkeley County — and grateful for the continued support of GAF, QXO, and everyone who helps make these projects possible.

Our next Habitat roof is officially on the calendar for just two weeks from now.

Before the next layer goes down, the crew stops, looks it over, and makes sure the work underneath is right. Because the parts you’ll never see matter just as much as the finished roof.
