We had a great time at Chesapeake Worlds of Work last week!

Students stopped by the Heartland booth to test their jobsite safety knowledge, learn about construction materials, and get a glimpse into the many career opportunities our industry has to offer!

Another great Safety Day in the books! Our team spent the day learning, competing, and getting hands-on with stations covering everything from fire safety and equipment maintenance to eye PPE, vehicle safety, warning lines, vision testing, and more!

A huge thank you to Dave Madaras with the Chesapeake Region Safety Council, BFPE International, Region Rents, Tidewater Safety Shoes, Hilti, and the Lions Club for joining us and helping make the day a success.

And of course, we wrapped plenty of fun into the day with construction games and challenges! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped reinforce what Safety Day is all about — learning, staying aware, and looking out for one another.

Big things are happening at the New Maury High School!

Our team recently set a massive 50,000-pound steel beam as part of the project’s first steel installation sequence. This critical structural piece will help support the third and fourth-floor classroom areas as the new school continues to take shape.

to Quinton Elementary School in New Kent, Virginia!

This 95,000-square-foot new school was designed to create a welcoming and engaging environment where students can learn, grow, and make memories for years to come. Featuring modern classrooms, a gymnasium, community spaces, and an outdoor courtyard, every part of the school was thoughtfully designed and built to support both students and educators. This summer, we were proud to team up with Comfort Systems of Virginia, Inc. and Bridgeman Civil, Inc. for a Beautification Project at Western Branch Primary School for Chesapeake Public Schools!

Together, our teams rolled up their sleeves to refresh and enhance the school’s outdoor courtyard. The project included installing a wheelchair accessible swing, adding fresh mulch, replacing concrete in the outdoor classroom area, filling planter boxes with fresh flowers, and installing several new interactive features - including a weather station, musical butterflies, a sign language board, a wheelchair accessible sand table, and an outdoor chalkboard.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back to our local schools and create a space where students can learn, play, explore, and enjoy the outdoors!
