As classrooms fill back up this fall, we’re reminded why we love what we do. Good design shapes more than just a building, it shapes how students experience learning every single day. Progress continues at the Aurora Public Library - Eola Road Branch!

Studio GC partnered with the District on a Space Planning/Visioning exercise that grew into a full master plan, guiding a series of improvements designed to keep the library running for the community throughout construction.

Once complete, the project’s 6,000 sq. ft. addition and 34,000 sq. ft. renovation will bring expanded programming spaces, an enhanced teen room, additional study rooms, and new outdoor spaces to the branch.

More updates to come as the space takes shape.

Take a look inside the newly completed entry and arrival experience at Matteson Area Public Library District!

What began as a required accessibility update at the entry became an opportunity to reimagine how patrons experience the library from the moment they walk in. Studio GC partnered with the District to design a space that improves wayfinding, increases visibility to the Marketplace, and creates a stronger connection to the community it serves, bringing a renewed sense of joy and connection to every visit.

A peek inside the newly expanded Kenyon Woods Middle School!

New classrooms, collaborative spaces, science labs, and offices, all built to welcome this year’s incoming 6th graders and support how students learn and work together day to day.

Yesterday we celebrated the ribbon cutting for our Kenyon Woods Middle School expansion project!

Despite the weather, we had a fantastic turnout! The addition allows 6th graders to move from the elementary school into the middle school for the first time, with expanded space built to welcome them. District U-46 had been planning this move for decades, and it’s now ready for the new school year.

The new space includes classrooms, collaborative spaces, science labs, and offices.

Thank you to District U-46 for the partnership on this project, and to ICI for their work bringing it to life.

A big day for Niles Township High School District 219! We celebrated the ribbon cutting this week for two transformative projects that will reshape learning for students at Niles Central and Niles West High Schools.
 
Niles Central is a new ground-up therapeutic day school designed for personalized learning, featuring expanded classrooms and experiential labs that prepare students for what’s next.
 
Niles West’s new three-story addition enhances safety, visitor experience, and student life with updated classrooms, a college and career center, rooftop patio, and a vibrant commons for collaboration.
 
We’re grateful to have partnered with BEAR Construction to bring these projects to life. Congratulations to District 219, we’re excited to see these spaces inspire students for years to come!
