A historic home carries decades, sometimes a century, of character in its details: original millwork, plaster ceilings, proportions and materials that simply aren't built the same way anymore. The goal of a thoughtful restoration isn't to freeze that character in place. It's to carry it forward, updating the systems, layout, and finishes that make a home livable today while protecting the elements that made it worth preserving in the first place.

Done well, the result doesn't feel like an old house with new parts bolted on. It feels like the house was always meant to work this way.
