We're excited to be sharing a new chapter for Whitmore Homes, and for a beloved East Grand Rapids property!
Whitmore Homes has purchased the Blodgett Estate (also known as Brookby) to help transition this incredible property into a new era. Thank you to Crain's Grand Rapids Business for this profile of the transaction, and for helping share our vision of a new era for the spectacular and historical estate.
One of the unique aspects of this project is that multiple of our company leaders are direct neighbors of this property - this means that a tasteful and community-friendly future for the property is of the utmost importance for us - personally and professionally!
For a few highlights of the article and our plans:
1. The existing mansion is in excellent shape, thanks to very thoughtful care over the years by Aquinas College and prior owners.
2. We are planning on preserving the mansion and are actively seeking a new buyer to make it their home.
3. We intend that the mansion will be used as a private residence, in alignment with the current allowed use/zoning.
4. We'll be creating 4 new buildable lots with the remainder of the property - ranging from half-acre to 1.5 acre+ parcels. These parcels will be sold individually to buyers interested in building a custom home with us!
We've already received some fantastic feedback and some great questions about this amazing property.
If you're interested in learning more about the property and opportunities to be part of this new era for Brookby, we'd love to hear from you!
