We spent the day yesterday across the street shooting our third Deer Pond home, which had us thinking about this favorite moment from Deer Pond II. Where the primary suite opens onto a covered porch, creating a cozy retreat with a direct connection to the rear yard. Large sliding doors frame the landscape, bringing the outdoors into the everyday experience and making the porch a natural place to slow down and enjoy the setting.

There may be no greater compliment than being asked to design a client’s home a second time.

Our Elm II home was completed a few years ago, drawing on traditional architecture through steeply pitched slate roofs, stone masonry, carefully scaled windows, and layered forms that give the home a timeless character. When these homeowners came back to us to design a second home out of state, we were honored to be part of their next chapter. Moments like these are among the most rewarding parts of what we do, and we can’t wait to share more of their second home in the future.

A hidden room with its own point of view.

Every detail adds another layer to the bar at our Deer Pond II home. From the glass-enclosed wine storage to the narrow footprint and full-height window, the space is designed to feel both intimate and open. Natural light filters through, highlighting the wine display and creating contrast from the dining room, while the oversized window extends the sightline beyond, creating a moment and making the bar feel tucked away, yet always connected to the home.

At our Heart house the story doesn’t stop at the front door.  The entry we shared last week was designed as a progression rather than a single space. Stone walls and timber-framed openings create depth as the home gradually unfolds. Making this entry a quiet moment where proportion, material, and perspective come together before the home opens beyond.

A new moment to share ✨

As the sun settles behind our Heart home, the architecture comes to life. Set on a large parcel, this home unfolds across the landscape, creating opportunities for light to enter from every direction throughout the day.  Expansive glazing connects each volume, blurring the line between indoors and out while revealing layers of the home beyond. It’s a quiet study in transparency, light, and the moments they create. More to come…

The best rooms don’t stop at the walls.

At our Deer Pond II home, walls of folding glass transform the sunroom into an extension of the patio, producing one continuous living space, where the home’s connection to the landscape becomes part of the design. Carefully aligned openings and long views reinforce that connection, creating a moment where inside and outside exist as one.

Currently under construction, our Hampton house feels substantial without feeling heavy. Its layered masonry, generous glazing, and arched openings create depth across the façade, making every approach a moment while giving the home character without relying on ornament. This rendering is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to bring this vision to life alongside Micheal Conneely + Kristy | Artesian Designs

Designed around the water 💦

This modern Florida residence embraces its canal-front setting with expansive glazing, deep overhangs, and outdoor living spaces that blur the line between inside and out. Crisp white forms, warm wood accents, and clean geometries create a home that feels equally suited for quiet mornings and evenings spent overlooking the water.

Every view was considered. Every moment was designed.

This Fourth of July, we’re celebrating the freedom to create homes as unique as the families who live in them.

From modern to shingle style, and everything in between, no two moments are the same. We believe great architecture begins by listening, not by imposing a signature style. Every project is shaped by its owners, its setting, and the life it is meant to support.

Much like our country’s greatest strength, the diversity of ideas, backgrounds, and perspectives leads to something richer. It’s one of the things we’re most proud of, creating homes that are distinctly different, yet equally thoughtful.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July!
