We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two Michigan Department of Transportation workers who were killed yesterday while working along a roadway in the Lansing area. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends and coworkers during this incredibly difficult time.

This heartbreaking incident is a sobering reminder that every work zone is an active workplace. Please stay alert, slow down and give road crews the space they need to do their jobs safely.

A third worker was injured and treated at the scene.
