Our design work is rooted in place and community, and our commitment to both extends beyond the studio.

Members of our team recently volunteered with Second Harvest Heartland, supporting the organization's work to provide food and resources to communities across Minnesota. This is just one of the many ways we aim to stay connected to the places and people we’re fortunate to work in and for.

Earlier this week we had the pleasure of hosting a happy hour + networking event in our studio during the national Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) annual conference.

As an homage to the conference being held in Minneapolis this year, we shared some of our favorite parts of the Twin Cities with our guests: local beers, snacks, and of course, must-see architectural landmarks.

Architecture is built on the exchange of knowledge, experience, and mentorship across generations.

We're proud to see Snow Kreilich architects Nicholas M. Reiter, AIA, NOMA, Co-Chair of the AIA St. Paul Mentorship Task Force, and Justin Wang, AIA, NOMA, LEED Green Associate, a Task Force member and leader of our internal mentorship program, featured in Mentorship Modernized, published in the 2026 ENTER print annual.

Through their leadership and service, Nicholas and Justin are helping foster a culture of mentorship both within our studio and across the broader architecture community. Their work reflects the importance of creating meaningful opportunities for professional growth, knowledge-sharing, and leadership development at every stage of practice.

As Nicholas shares:
"It's about being intentional and committed to creating a culture where we all do better when we all do better."
- Nicholas M. Reiter, AIA, NOMA
Co-Chair, AIA St. Paul Mentorship Task Force

We are honored to be have been named the 2026 Best of Practice Award Winner for Architect (Medium Firm) – Midwest by The Architect's Newspaper. This award recognizes the design of a practice itself, its culture, values, and approach to architecture.

A sense of place emerged as a common thread among many of this year’s winners. As a firm grounded in the belief that architecture has transformative power, we view our work as an opportunity to shape the experience of place and community. This ethos takes shape just as much in our studio culture as it does in our design work.

“I was impressed by the equal priority given to design quality and support for the office and Minneapolis...” —Jack Murphy, Award Juror and Editor in Chief, The Architect’s Newspaper

Thank you to The Architect's Newspaper, and congratulations to all of the firms recognized this year.

The River Hub at Graco Park was recently recognized with The American Institute of Architects 2026 Small Project Award.

An AIA award is the ultimate acknowledgment of impactful, exemplary work. The Small Project category raises public awareness of the value and design excellence that architects provide regardless of size and scope. These winners represent the big impact that small projects can have on their users and broader communities.

With the school year coming to a close, we're spotlighting our recently completed work on The Barack and Michelle Obama School renovation and addition. This project, recently awarded with a Finance & Commerce Top Projects Award, thoughtfully balances preservation, performance, and long-term adaptability, demonstrating how legacy school buildings can be transformed to meet modern needs while maintaining their legacy.

In alignment with Saint Paul Public Schools SPPS commitment to reinvest in existing facilities, the project reimagines a 1920s-era structure as a contemporary learning environment while retaining its architectural character. Original masonry and stone façades were preserved, oversized period window openings were restored to bring in abundant natural light, and a historic auditorium was transformed into a new gymnasium that meets the school's programmatic needs.
