Small change makes a big difference! 💙 This week, Central Electric presented two Operation Round-Up grants:

• Rooted 23 was awarded $500 to help launch Ethan High School’s Hope Squad, a peer-to-peer mental health initiative.
• Hanson County Child Protection Team was awarded $500 to purchase clothing racks for the Open Closet, which provides free clothing to children, adults and families.

Operation Round-Up is a voluntary program that demonstrates the cooperative principle of .

Pole Inspections 🚧 Over the next couple weeks, additional pole testing will take place around Lane, Crow Lake and Wessington Springs. Crews from SBS Power Pole Inspections will test approximately 1,500 poles to help identify potential issues and prevent future power outages.

Members may see crews working around poles or traveling along power lines in ATVs and pickups. They should display Central Electric magnets or other identification. If you have questions, please contact our office. ⚡

🇺🇸 High school juniors: Washington, D.C., is calling! Apply for Central Electric’s 2027 Youth Tour for a chance to explore our nation’s capital, meet students from across the country and learn about government and electric cooperatives.

📅 June 17-23, 2027
📍 Visit national landmarks, tour the U.S. Capitol and cruise the Potomac River!

Applicants must be juniors during the 2026-2027 school year and permanently reside in Aurora, Brule, Buffalo, Davison, Hanson, Jerauld, Miner or Sanborn County. Children of Central Electric employees and directors are not eligible. A recommendation letter from a teacher, coach, 4-H advisor or another adult is required.
