✨✨This post is not about asking you to choose our business. This post comes from a moral more humble stand point, just tips for anyone looking to hire a contractor for anything, & we will explain why✨✨
This year we have gained new clients who we have done work for & that work has been correcting/repairing what another "contractor" had done. So not only did the clients pay once, but they then paid twice for the same service that should have been done right the first time! Now I don't know about you, but that would infuriate & frustrate us!
So here are some tips in your search for finding the RIGHT hired help to give your hard earned 💲💵💲 to:

✅ Ask if they are a licensed business (you can also check the INBiz portal by searching the business name). Anyone spending their own money to be legitimate is a positive sign, but that's not the only sign to look for.
✅ Ask to see proof of business insurance. You don't want a worker getting hurt or your own property accidentally damaged. Again, a person willing to pay to protect their workers and their clients is another good sign, but not the only sign.
✅ Ask if they provide a warranty or guarantee on their work they provide. Again, a person willing to stand on the longevity of their work is a good sign.
✅ This one isn't a must tip, but it is good for peace of mind. Ask if they have a social media or digital portfolio of past projects they have completed for you to look at. Look for projects similar to what you are wanting to have done (so you can see that it is something they have completed and the quality appears good).
✅ Absolutely by no means do you pay in full up front! We personally have had 2 elderly clients do that and the "contractor" either never showed up to start OR never came back to finish the job. If it is a short timeframe project (2-3 weeks) you pay a deposit and the remainder when finished. If it is a longer timeframe project (4+ weeks) you pay a deposit, payments in between, and the final payment does not get paid until your project is finished.

I take pride in what I do, so I most definitely could not. Contractors you need to care more about quality and less about the finish line!
This is also what you get with going with the lower bid.
