What a Difference the Right Design Makes!

This historic Frederick brick home got a major front porch makeover!

The original porch had served its purpose for many years, but the homeowners were ready for an updated look that better matched the character of the home while creating a more welcoming outdoor space.

One of our favorite things about this project is that the finished porch feels both fresh and timeless. It respects the home's historic character while giving it a cleaner, more updated look that we love!

We completed this sunroom conversion in Thurmont a couple of years ago and recently came across the project photos while organizing our archives.

The homeowners wanted to turn an existing screened porch into a brighter, more comfortable space they could enjoy much more of the year. Looking back, it's still one of our favorite transformations.

Another BEFORE AND AFTER!

Amazing what a simple deck upgrade can do for a home. The old deck had definitely seen better days, and this new space completely changed the look and feel of the backyard.

Now the homeowners have the perfect spot for a grill, a couple chairs, morning coffee, or just relaxing outside after a long day. It may not be a huge addition, but spaces like this add so much everyday value and make the home feel more inviting.

Solid craftsmanship and a fresh new sliding door made all the difference on this one. We love seeing transformations like this come together! GOOD JOB DORCUS TEAM!

This bathroom was stuck in another decade… bold wallpaper, dated finishes, and a layout that just wasn’t working—especially for a growing family.

Now it’s a clean, bright, kid-friendly space that’s functional, durable, and still looks great 🙌

What we did at DORCUS:

What a transformation!

We took this space from a time capsule to a clean, modern, spa-like shower that completely changes how the room feels.
✔️ Custom tiled shower with full-height marble look walls
✔️ Sleek glass enclosure for an open, airy feel
✔️ Matte black fixtures for a sharp, modern finish
✔️ And that brown wood-look vertical tile accent wall… bringing warmth and texture that makes the whole design pop!

To make this transformation possible, we had to go beyond just finishes — relocating the toilet and burying the old plumbing to completely rework the layout and bring this bathroom into the modern era.

Important note: The floor tile was completed by another contractor — but we made sure our shower design tied everything together seamlessly.
