Met the gal that puts the HM in HMSE. It’s me, Holly. I’m 36-11/12 years old, mom to Jax and Aly, wife to Jonathan, and a follower of Jesus Christ. I’ve been born and raised in South Louisiana my entire life … which means I’ve been through a lot of hurricanes.
Today is June 1, the first day of the 2026 Hurricane season. Let me help you get prepared.
1. Document everything now. This will help you when it comes to fighting the insurance company.
2. Build an emergency supply kit. Flashlights, batteries, canned goods, extra medicine, water, a “go” bag.
3. Maintain your generator. Call Dustin Parkhill at K-Gen Electrical and Generator Services. … and other maintenance - trim trees, clear drains, move or secure things that can fly away.
4. Know your evacuation plan and have an idea on where to stay, as well as an emergency contact list.
5. Life over property. Everything can be replaced, but you. You cannot be replaced.
Anything else I am missing? Prayers for an uneventful season, but be ready to run to the store for your bread, milk, and eggs in an emergency - you know is Cajuns need our French toast. 😂
👷🏽♀️ 🔨 ❤️ I’m your girl!
