Benowa Tavern, Benowa

The refurbishment of Benowa Tavern reimagines this established local venue through a renewed architectural identity, creating a contemporary hospitality destination that remains grounded in its Benowa community.

The exterior transformation focused on strengthening the taverns strength and identity, with integrated lighting, signage and architectural detailing creating a bold and welcoming arrival. By day, the refreshed facade establishes a confident street presence, while considered illumination brings the building to life after dark.

Internally, the bistro, sports bar and gaming room were completely refurbished, with each space given its own character while forming part of a cohesive venue experience. Materiality, detailing and design references draw inspiration from the venues location and local community, creating spaces that feel familiar, relaxed and distinctly connected to place.

The result is a revitalised Benowa Tavern that balances contemporary design, with the character of a much loved local, strengthening its identity while creating an inviting destination for dining, drinking and socialising.

We’ve got a lot of projects coming up at the moment but sometimes it’s good to look back on old favourites!

The Newmarket Hotel is one of these, an oldie but a goodie!

A week of styling at the Esplanade Hotel in South Australia!

Our stylist recently spent a week on site at towards the end of this project pulling together the finishing touches. The venue is a large one and required an intentional layering of many items, including an eclectic mix of artworks, life rings hung from the wall reflecting Brighton’s surf live saving history, vases, planting a lot of quirky, vintage sourced items to give this iconic location the character it deserved!

Stay tuned for more on the outcome of this exciting project.

Designing The Brook Hotel from the ground up gave us the opportunity to think about the entire guest experience, not just individual spaces.

From the energy of the bistro and lobby through to the darker, more intimate accommodation corridors, every decision around layout, circulation, architecture, colour and materiality was considered to create a seamless sense of flow.

One venue, one design language, carried from the pub all the way to the guest room door.
