We are excited to share our proposed design for a Nano Style Hotel which was recently featured by Daily Hive. This Nano-style Hotel is a compact and forward-thinking proposal suited for the challenge of a 25’ wide by 120’ long site, minutes away from Granville Entertainment District.
Unison Architecture explored how limited space can be reimagined into an efficient and experience-driven space by offering a flexible response to the evolving needs of Vancouver, such as the rise of tourism in the City.
Our Principals experienced various Nano- and Pod-style hotels in Japan firsthand to extract learnings that could be applied to this proposal. This project is about more than density and innovative construction – it’s about experience, accessibility, and unlocking new potential in the urban core of Vancouver.
Currently, the 900 block on Howe Street consists of office buildings on one side and the Provincial Law Court on the other – all of which generally operate from 8am to 5pm. This will allow the Hotel to welcome guests with minimal disruption to surrounding businesses between 4pm and 10am.
