A very proud night for Igoe Up Ltd!

Last night, our Managing Director, Chris Igoe, and Operations Director, Mark Macrae, attended the ATLAS 80th anniversary celebration in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Our work at Falkland Palace was shortlisted for Best Conservation & Heritage Project by a Steeplejack Member and received a Highly Commended mention — or, as Chris is calling it, “second place!” 😂

Having only been established for five years, this is a remarkable milestone for our small, family-run business and our small, loyal workforce. To be shortlisted alongside some of the most respected and established names in our industry, delivering such impressive projects, makes this recognition even more special.

Huge congratulations to Churchill Specialist Contracting, whose winning project was a fantastic example of conservation work at its best. The craftsmanship, care and respect for the building’s historic character made it a thoroughly deserving winner.

This is the standard of conservation work that every steeplejack business should aspire to. Working on historic buildings carries a responsibility to understand and protect what makes them special, using appropriate materials and methods to preserve them for future generations. To have our work recognised alongside a project of that standard makes this achievement even more meaningful.

Chris said:

“Seeing my surname and our business name listed alongside companies at the very pinnacle of the steeplejack and lightning protection industries was a special moment for me.

“But it’s our fantastic team who make moments like this possible. They are the boots on the ground, bringing skill, care and pride to our work, and they have just as much passion for these historic buildings as I do.

“To have come this far in just five years, with our small, loyal workforce, is a massive achievement. It says so much about how we operate as a team, and this recognition belongs to everyone.”

Congratulations to all the other winners, and thank you to ATLAS for another fantastic event. We feel privileged to be part of nights like these and to celebrate alongside so many talented people from across our industry. 👏

⭐ Highly Recommend – Ask My Decorator App!

As a specialist steeplejack and rope access company, Igoe Up Ltd carries out work in places that most trades simply cannot access.

Working at height presents its own challenges, and getting a professional decorator up a 40-metre chimney, church spire or onto a difficult roof using ropes or steeplejack ladders isn’t always practical!

That’s why we’ve subscribed to Ask My Decorator and installed it on all our team’s tablets.

It gives our operatives access to professional decorating knowledge while on site, helping them make informed decisions about the materials, preparation methods and application techniques best suited to the buildings we’re working on.

This is particularly important when working on historic and listed buildings, where using the correct materials and methods is essential.

But it’s not just the bigger technical questions that make this app worthwhile.

It’s also a fantastic learning tool for our apprentices. Whether it’s understanding different products, cleaning equipment properly, storing materials or asking those little questions they might feel silly asking, the guidance is there at their fingertips.

As a business, we believe you never stop learning, regardless of how many years you’ve been in the trade.

Having access to specialist knowledge helps us support our team, develop our apprentices and maintain the high standards we expect on every project.

A great investment for our business and an app I’d happily recommend to other trades! 👏

Igoe Up Ltd – Specialist Steeplejack & Rope Access Services

🎨 MEET THE EXPERT BEHIND ASK MY DECORATOR

With over 20 years of industry experience, Mark Nevin is a multi-award-winning painter and decorator, recognised nationally and internationally for his craftsmanship, expertise and contribution to the trade.

🎨 Throughout his career, Mark has remained passionate about developing skills, sharing knowledge and supporting the next generation of decorators.

💡 The inspiration behind Ask My Decorator (AMD) came from recognising the challenges apprentices face on site and the lack of digital support and guidance available to them.

Mark wanted to create a credible, accessible and non-judgemental source of professional guidance that apprentices could turn to whenever they needed support.

📖 What began as an educational tool for apprentices has since evolved into a free platform for everyone — from homeowners and DIY enthusiasts to experienced tradespeople.

💙💛 Built on experience. Created for learning. Available to everyone.

Huge thanks to Specialized Signs for adding the finishing touches to our company vans today! 👌🏻

Top-class work as always — absolutely delighted with how they’ve turned out.
💚🖤

We’re also proud that every vehicle in the Igoe Up Ltd fleet carries the Andys Man Club logo. It’s our small way of supporting men’s mental health and, more importantly, letting all men know that it’s okay to talk. 👌🏻

10/09/2026

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we’re reminding everyone in construction and beyond that it’s okay to talk.

The construction industry continues to face devastatingly high su***de rates, and behind every statistic is a person, a family, a workmate and a friend.

At Igoe Up Ltd, we’re proud to support our local ANDYSMANCLUB in Loanhead, where our Managing Dictator, Chris Igoe, was one of the club’s Co-Lead Facilitators.

Sometimes the most important thing you can do for a mate is simply ask, “How are you, really?” Then listen.

Talk. Listen. Support. Look out for each other. 💚
