Our focus is on the end-to-end service, which starts with immersive and collaborative design and costing workshops. HOKO is a turnkey home remodelling service for homeowners. We believe that homeowners are often forgotten by the architecture industry. We are focused exclusively on extensions and home alterations in a UK market expected to hit £47 billion in 2021. Since our launch in 2019 we have g

rown from a small Glasgow firm to employ 30 people, operating throughout the UK from Inverness all the way to Brighton. We have introduced additional revenue streams; we can now build the projects we design through carefully chosen partnerships with local contractors and offer full interior design packages. We aim to make HOKO the first household name for residential architecture.

Introducing another beautiful transformation currently taking shape⚒️🏡

This project brings together a charred timber-clad rear extension, carefully considered internal alterations, and a full redesign of the kitchen and bathrooms — all centred around a calm Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic with a modern edge.

The goal was to create a home that feels brighter, more connected, and far more functional for everyday living, while still keeping warmth and character throughout the space. From the natural materials and clean lines to the soft, minimal palette, every detail has been designed to feel timeless, practical, and welcoming.

A lot of our clients are getting in touch about interior alterations lately — which is really exciting to see 👀

So we thought we’d share a few simple ideas for those of you considering changes inside your home… especially if you’re not afraid of adding a bit of colour.

Sometimes it’s not about a full renovation — small, thoughtful changes can completely shift how a space feels. A pop of colour in the right place can bring warmth, personality, and a fresh energy into your home.

Whether it’s a bold feature wall, coloured cabinetry, or subtle accents through furniture and finishes — it’s all about finding the right balance.

Coming back to this project once again — because some spaces are just too good not to revisit.

It’s one of those designs that stays with you. The final result felt thoughtful, bold, and full of character — packed with unique features that make it stand out without trying too hard.

What we love most is how it brings people together. There are so many social spaces woven throughout — inside and out — making the most of those rare (but beautiful) sunny days in Scotland. The design creates that perfect indoor–outdoor flow, where boundaries blur and the space feels open, alive, and connected to its surroundings.

A project that proves great design isn’t just about how it looks — it’s about how it feels to be in it.
