Yorkshire Tree Surgery

Back in 2021 we dismantled a large dead Beech tree in Lincolnshire. At the base of the tree was a huge burl and at the time I thought, one day I’ll mill that.
So yesterday was the day I decided to have a go and I got half of it turned into 3 inch planks. The rest I’ll mill soon.

The Spalting and the colours running through it are absolutely stunning. One day one of these planks once sanded and varnished will be my new office desk.

A job which we recently completed. Recent storms had ripped through a very mature roadside Conifer hedge tearing out multiple tops leaving the trees in a dangerous condition. A large Horse Chestnut tree also had a large fracture running from a large limb that overhung the carriageway right through to the base of the tree. This possibly caused by a previous large lightning strike.
The decision was made by the home owners to remove for safety. The trees were dismantled successfully, the chip spread across the area and the stumps ground out.
A beautiful fence was then installed and Laurels will be planted shortly.

I am beyond proud to announce our sister company Humber logs can now produce Kiln dried logs.
With the purchase of a biomass boiler we can utilise our own bi product Woodchip to create the heat to kiln dry our own logs on site utilising our own materials even further.
This is the very first batch, just need to put the sheet on and we are officially kiln drying.

Mixed logs will be back on stock shortly :))

With the help of the remote control felling wedge we were able to safely fell a beech stem within a tight garden this morning with a little tickle with the saw at the end :)
The rest of this sprawling Beech was dismantled successfully last Friday. All materials needed to be rigged and lowered to the ground avoiding any damage in the customers and neighbouring garden which spanned over a tiled roof.

A very dangerous road side Ash tree which we recently dismantled. The majority of this tree was hollow with only a tiny amount of holding wood left at the base. It was at serious risk of collapse.
We utilised traffic management for safety as it overhung a busy road. It was then dismantled using our MEWP, again for safety.
The tree was then loaded into our hookloader and removed from site.
