This new house in Hertfordshire has great connections to the outside - whether it's a corner window in the snug, balconies for the bedrooms, or sliding doors leading to the terrace and swimming pool. It strikes a balance between connected spaces for family time and entertaining, and private spaces which are tucked away. More on our website - link in bio.

Planning submitted for a new low-energy home in Suffolk:
Working within the constraints of an existing planning permission and footprint, we collaborated with the client to arrive at a design which would be their dream home and incorporate high levels of insulation, natural solar shading, and renewable technologies. The new scheme takes influence from agricultural buildings, in a long barn form, with low eaves connecting it to the landscape. Glazing at the gable ends provides views out over the wider landscape around the plot, whilst picture windows on the long side frame views out to the existing pond from the main bedroom and the living area.

How beautiful are these natural insulations, installed at our Suffolk barn conversion? The difference between a site full of these materials, rather than rigid foam insulation, is significant even before they are installed - there's a warmth and tactility, and a good smell!

This timber framed extension in Suffolk provided a new accessible bedroom to a cottage in the curtilage of a listed building, with a focus on connections to the garden. Sliding doors lead to the terrace, with meandering ramped paths through the planting ensuring that the beautiful outdoor space can be enjoyed by everyone. The client's own sculptures are nestled amongst the greenery.

A small but mighty extension in Suffolk, providing a bright entrance to a previously converted barn. As well as a colourful new front door, the porch accommodates a much needed plant room and WC, and a skylight lets light in to the depth of the house.
