A landmark moment for Darlington 👊🚆

The transformed Darlington Station has officially opened to the public after a major £140m upgrade, delivering modern facilities, improved connectivity and a station ready for the future of rail travel across the North East.

From the new platforms and passenger facilities through to the impressive infrastructure improvements, this project has been a huge team effort from everyone involved.

We’re incredibly proud at LOCA Construction Limited to have played a small part in such a landmark transformation for the town, its passengers and the wider region. A fantastic project to be involved in and a great achievement for partners involved 👏

Precision has been key throughout the transformation at Darlington Station 👊🚉

From the highly detailed steel fabrication works delivered by Carver Engineering Services to the installation and on-site coordination carried out by LOCA Construction Limited, every stage of the project has required careful planning, accuracy and teamwork.

Working within a live railway environment on a major station upgrade of this scale leaves no room for error. The fabrication of complex structural steel components, combined with precise installation sequencing on site, has played a huge role in bringing the new platforms, footbridge and station infrastructure together safely and efficiently.

A fantastic example of engineering, fabrication and construction working hand in hand to help deliver one of the region’s biggest rail infrastructure upgrades.

Darlington Station UPDATE 2026

These latest pictures show just how close to completing this huge transformation - with the striking new eastern gateway building ready, the new multi-storey car park almost finished, and the internal connection bridge now in place above the platforms.

We’ve helped deliver:

This is about giving Darlington the station it deserves - protecting its heritage while creating a modern gateway for the future.

From local tracks to the national stage 🏁

Hudson Kai Cooper has progressed from British MiniBikes through Ohvale MiniGP, winning multiple championships before stepping up to larger bikes and securing the ACU Team Green Ninja 400 Cup title last season. With 10 titles to his name, his dedication and consistency continue to stand out.

This season, he takes on his biggest challenge yet in the R&G Moto4 British Cup within the British Superbike Championship paddock, competing at the highest level of junior racing in the UK.
