Really enjoy the detailed work every now and then 😊

Currently making some decorative posts for a larger project I'm working on, and I've also got a work experience student with me this week from

I've been showing him how layering materials can create depth and character in detailed joinery work, as well as explaining how and why I choose certain mouldings for different projects.

Hopefully there'll be plenty more opportunities to work with students in the future, and if I can pass on even one thing they remember throughout their carpentry journey, then it's time well spent 😊🔨

Lovely little custom desk built this week in Boldon just awaiting stone worktop to finish it off 😁

This custom-built desk was designed and made to fit perfectly within a small office room, making the most of both the available space and functionality.

Built to the client's specification, it features oak veneer internals with an MDF front ready for painting, helping it blend seamlessly with the style and character of this beautiful home.

I genuinely enjoyed making this one, and it's definitely sparked an interest in creating more bespoke home office furniture in the future! 😁

Upcycle complete! ✅ Stage 1 of the project is officially finished.

The Just Let Your Soul Grow shed has now been successfully relocated and is proudly sitting in its new home on the second plot. 😊

A massive thank you to Bill, one of the volunteers from the community gardens, for being an absolute trooper this week and helping with the move. We couldn't have done it without you!

A huge and special thank you also to Dan from Wooden Huts Ltd , who dropped everything to come and help move the larger shed sections that we simply couldn't fit into the van. Dan's company originally built the shed around 11 years ago, and I have to say, it's still incredibly solid. It really is a testament to the quality of their work — these sheds are built to last!

Now it's time for more planning, preparation, and the start of Stage 2 of the build. Exciting times ahead, and of course, I'll keep sharing updates as we progress.

So these are just a few of the many hats I'm wearing at the minute, so please forgive me if I'm a little slow replying to messages 🙈

Our community project alongside Just Let Your Soul Grow made a great start this week. We successfully relocated the existing shed to its new home on a separate site ready to assemble and making sure we didn't waste a thing, with sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

One of the things I love most about the gardens is their commitment to recycling, reusing and repurposing wherever possible. It's a fantastic ethos and one I'm proud to be involved with.

Alongside this project, I've been working as Project Manager alongside Jennie, and as we move into the construction phase I'll also be stepping into the role of Site Manager as part of a new course I've recently enrolled on 😄

I've literally just graduated from my Interior Design course and have gone straight into three more courses to continue developing myself, my business and the service I can offer my clients. The goal is to take on larger projects and provide even more value to customers—something a few recent clients have already experienced through my interior design input and suggestions on their projects 😄

I've always been someone who wants to keep learning and pushing forward. I'm constantly looking for ways to improve, grow and offer more. Exciting times ahead indeed! 😁

Another set of alcove units completed this week, with one side extended slightly longer to create more of a media wall feature 📺

The TV will sit perfectly centred with shelving above, both finished with LED uplighting to give it that warm evening glow ✨

Finished off with proper 5-piece shaker doors and matching skirting trim for that classic built-in look 😁

Next week marks the start of a huge summer project working alongside some brilliant organisations, so I’ll be keeping you all updated as things progress 😎

Another clean and simple storage solution completed a few weeks back 👌

This one was designed with full height doors only — no drawers — creating loads of easy access storage while keeping the understairs area looking neat and uncluttered.

The routed doors were matched to the internal detailing, with a touch of trim panelling carried up the staircase to tie everything together nicely. Clean, practical and in keeping with the space 🙌

Joiners, fitters, painters, groundworkers… basically all tradies — dust masks are one of those things we KNOW are necessary, but they can also be an absolute pain in the a$$ 😒

I’ve been through loooooads of brands, different fittings, the lot! And wearing glasses with them? Even worse. I could never seem to get a proper fit without steaming my glasses up every 5 minutes 😶‍🌫️

But at the same time, not wearing one is a habit I really needed to break — especially with having asthma. I’ve definitely noticed on days I “forget” to put one on, I feel rough after being around dust all day.

Then along came Base Camp Mask.

I’d seen a few lads on Instagram and Facebook talking about them and rating them highly, so I thought I’d give one a proper try and be honest about my experience.

I’ve had one of these in my pocket for the last few months and honestly it’s been spot on — super handy, comfortable enough to leave around your neck, then just pull up when needed. And the best part… no steamed up glasses 🙌
