The temptation to jump on the trampolines was definitely there, but as always, Voltstead professionalism won out and we kept our feet firmly on the ground.

This week we've been helping a local gymnastics centre, carrying out electrical inspections, ensuring the installation is up to scratch, and providing the necessary NICEIC-approved certification.

It's been a great job to be involved with, working alongside genuinely good people and helping to keep the facility safe and compliant for everyone who uses it. 🤸‍♂️⚡️

I'm smiling on the inside.

Judging by this photo, you probably wouldn't know it. 😅

In reality, I'm just concentrating on getting another air conditioning installation spot on. While I'm down on my knees making it all look neat and tidy, I'm already thinking about how pleased the customer will be when they're enjoying a cool space while everyone else is complaining about the heat! Honestly out of all the things we do there isn't much as satisfying as the end result of a new aircon install.

Another happy EV customer in Chelmsford

12 Years with the NICEIC

We’ve just completed our 12th annual NICEIC assessment.

A bit of a change this year — our assessor of the last few years has now retired, and today we were assessed by Ian. Although new to us, he brings over 20 years of experience in the role, which really shows.

Having an experienced assessor makes a big difference. These days can be full-on and time-consuming, so having someone knowledgeable, friendly and informative genuinely helps the whole process run smoothly.

We’re pleased to say it was a strong assessment resulting in another Pass, covering a wide range of both commercial and residential work.

We’ve always believed the NICEIC standards are among the highest in the industry, and we’re proud to continue upholding them

Suns out, guns out 💪

The whole Voltstead team has been enjoying the sudden turn in the weather and not starting and finishing work in the dark for once.

Thankfully we’ve got plenty of outdoor projects in the pipeline at the moment — including garden lighting, car park lighting and of course EV chargers 😅

Here’s Benjamin from Kwester — bringing his usual massive (and occasionally slightly out-there) personality, but also genuinely stepping forward to share his experience of working with Voltstead over the last 10 years.

We’ve worked together across countless projects during that time, from day-to-day property work to office upgrades. More recently, we also helped bring his EV charging plans to life — something he’d been talking about for a while.
