Supporting Jersey's hospitality industry and as its trade association since 1957

Our resources are designed to support Jersey's hospitality industry and as its trade association we have a strategic role to provide leadership and direction for the development of the visitor economy so that maximum economic benefit can be achieved for the Island. The Jersey Hospitality Association (JHA), is a leadi

ng representative organisation. We aim to deliver real returns for our members, positively promoting the industry's priorities through partnerships with government, trade partners, other associations and organisations by effectively representing hospitality and tourism in Jersey. We identify key issues and formulate clear policies to reflect the views and needs of a diverse range of industry partners who, in terms of turnover and work force, represent an essential part of Jersey's economic infrastructure and its social landscape. Moreover, we continually monitor policies that have an impact on this important sector of the local economy. The JHA continues to develop a portfolio of benefits and services that are designed to support all hospitality businesses across all sectors whilst promoting best practice to ensure service delivery to underpin a positive consumer experience in order to maximise repeat business and develop growth from existing and new visitor markets.

An exciting plan for our visitor economy and further great work by Ports of Jersey.

“Marcus Calvani, co-chief executive of the Jersey Hospitality Association, welcomed the news as something which could provide a much-needed boost for the tourism sector.

“I think what they’re proposing, that specific niche of cruise customer, is definitely a more intelligent route for us,” he said.

However, Mr Calvani argued that Ports would need to invest in the welcoming experience in Jersey, adding “our harbour, sadly, is not the most visually beautiful place to arrive”.

He said visitors should be greeted by something which “screams Jersey” and that both impresses passengers and encourages them to return. According to Ports’ report, 60% of cruise passengers return to destinations they have visited.”

JERSEY could be set to welcome more cruise ships to its shores as Ports of Jersey has begun strategically considering how to attract the vessels.  Currently, Jersey welcomes around ten cruise ships to the Island each year, but under a new strategy this could increase to as many as 30.  Bil...

This is fantastic news and a sector of the accomodation market that we have fought for, for many years, a truly ‘Jersey’ experience for visitors. 👏👏👏

What a crew!

A huge thank you to our sub-sector chair for transport, travel and tourism, Stephen King from Ports of Jersey for a really interesting and special ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the new departure terminal at Jersey Airport.

The attention to design details that celebrate our Island is really fantastic and something that we believe visitors will love and remember and Islanders will be proud of.

Incredibly, despite such a huge investment in everything that the traveler can see, touch and experience, almost 2/3 of the total budget is being spent to bring the building up to current day safety standards to keep us all safer when travelling.

Congratulations to all the team behind this design, project and work and we can’t wait to see it finished and open later this year.

It was more than a fight that should never have had to happen but we are thrilled that Bergerac is now doing well and into filming series 3, many congratulations to everyone who helped make this happen and congratulations to Visit Jersey for their continued superb work at putting our Island on the map.

We will get there, it’s just going to take some more time and continued relentless work, but it’s worth it as can be seen.

⛴️ ✈️ Tourism bosses say late bookings, Bergerac and improved connectivity have played a big part in increasing overnight visitors to Jersey.
