The busy season is in full swing, and we could not be happier with how our projects are turning out!

Last week, we wrapped up a new construction project in Eau Claire. When we arrived on site, the final grade had not been completed and nearly 200 yards of fill had been left behind. It took some schedule adjustments and a little extra help, but our crew stepped up and got the job done.

This project included:
•Hauling and grading 200 yards of fill
• Installing a French drain system
• 45 yards of screened dirt
• 20 yards of blue granite stone
• Beautiful bullet edging throughout the landscape
• Planting 15 Karl Foerster grasses
• Seeding the back side of the property with a wildflower mix

The end result is a clean, functional landscape that will continue to fill in and look even better with time. We appreciate the opportunity to help bring another new home to life!

At the end of the day, we hauled roughly 200 yards of fill off the property and completed the final grade to get everything shaped and draining properly. Jobs like this take a lot of coordination, flexibility, and teamwork to pull together the right way.

A little bit of coordination and a helping hand from Dom went a long way. We appreciate the extra support and teamwork on this one. Thank you!

Some days deserve more than a quick post.

This Memorial Day, we’re taking a moment to honor the fallen, remember their sacrifice, and hold gratitude for the freedoms they protected.

This week we packed up the equipment and headed up to Lake Holcombe to install a new concrete sidewalk with three steps. Before the project, the homeowners had to walk through the yard just to get to their parking area. Now they have a clean, safe walkway that will make getting back and forth much easier and help reduce the risk of slips and falls!

This was the second project we have completed for them up there, and we truly appreciate the continued support. Thank you again, Keith & Julie, for trusting Black Pine Landscaping with another project!

Last week, we wrapped up a project in Chippewa Falls where the owners of the apartment complex recently upgraded the property with new siding and decks. Our crew came in to correct the grade around the buildings, clean up construction debris, haul in fresh dirt, and restore the property back to shape.

To help with long-term drainage, we also installed 9 French drain systems throughout the complex to properly move water away from the buildings and lawn areas. The tenants will now be able to enjoy a cleaner, smoother, and healthier yard for years to come.

It’s been a busy week over here at Black Pine Landscaping!

We kicked off the week in Eau Claire by expanding this driveway with an additional 5’ of parking space, finished off with clean bullet edging for a sharp, finished look. We also removed the existing 3/4” granite around the fire pit and walkway and replaced it with a more comfortable walking surface to make the area more enjoyable for the homeowners.

A lot of people ask what we do with the material we take off properties during projects. A good portion of it gets recycled into other landscaping material, reused as fill, or repurposed on future jobs instead of going to waste.

And every once in a while it gets used for projects around the house too.

Tonight, my father-in-law finally convinced me to build the fire pit I have been putting off for over a year now. Safe to say the crew boss does not always get to avoid his own honey-to-do list 😅

People see the finished projects, clean stripes in the lawn, fresh mulch, and beautiful walls. What they don’t always see is what it takes behind the scenes to run a small business.

Long days on the phone with customers, checking in on past jobs, lining up the next project, handling scheduling, payroll, estimates, equipment breakdowns, material pickups, and trying to keep everything moving forward. A lot of “home time” ends up being office time, fixing equipment in the shop, or running around getting materials ready for the next morning.

And sometimes, when staffing gets thin, the true boss lady has to throw on the work clothes and head out into the field to help keep things rolling.

Running a small business is rewarding but it definitely comes with a lot of sacrifices. Missed time at home, long hours, stress, and plenty of chaos behind the scenes. But we are proud of what we are building together and grateful for everyone who continues to support Black Pine Landscaping.

We have had a very busy spring taking on new construction projects, working alongside C&M Home Builders to elevate and complete their homes with professional landscaping.

At the same time, our crews have been managing spring cleanups and maintaining our lawn care routes to keep properties looking their best.

As we begin to wrap up our spring workload, we are opening a limited number of spots for summer projects. If you have been considering a landscaping upgrade, now is the time to get on the schedule before availability fills.
