After 9 years away, it was wonderful to be back at Asilomar at MDC 2026. All of the sessions were amazing and the setting can't be beat! The best part was seeing the extensive architect/landscape architect/artist tribe again. What a long strange trip it's been. We are honored to learn that Meadow House has been recognized as a Winner in this year's Australian GOOD DESIGN AWARDS program.

JURY COMMENTS:
“The Jury commends Meadow House as a restrained residential project that carefully synthesises Korean spatial traditions with the Californian landscape through measured planning, material continuity and environmental responsiveness. The architecture demonstrates a disciplined relationship to site, accessibility and collective living, deftly using levels, spatial organisation and volume to create a beautiful sequence of spaces where walls dissolve, roofs and floors float, and the surrounding landscape becomes the focus. The Jury recognises how the design successfully overlays multiple considerations including the clients' Korean background, unique site constraints, and a programme requiring both intimacy and expansion for family and business gatherings, all resolved without resorting to formal excess.”

On Saturday we held a kick off meeting for a new home in the Santa Lucia Preserve. Careful earthmoving, site protection and utility coordination is critical and we were joined by the General and their main partners for the beginning of the build process. We are thankful for our brave Clients and the people that will help create the dream.
