Please help us welcome Marina Tyurina, Project Designer, to Weddermann Architecture!

Marina has a Master of Architecture degree from Far Eastern State Technical University, Vladivostok and over 20 years of experience.

Her favorite thing about working in the design field is getting to be creative every single day.

Please help us welcome David White, Senior Project Designer, to Weddermann Architecture!

David graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2005 and has been working in the architectural design field since 2006. He’s had the opportunity to work on everything from custom homes and remodels to accessibility upgrades, tenant improvements, educational facilities, and complex renovation projects.

David especially enjoys projects that require thoughtful problem-solving and close collaboration with clients, consultants, and contractors. Balancing creativity with technical problem-solving and helping clients navigate the complexities of design, permitting, and construction in a way that feels approachable and achievable, is David’s specialty.

“I genuinely enjoy finding solutions that are both practical and meaningful,” says David, “while creating spaces that improve how people live, work, and interact with their environment.”

Outside of architecture, he enjoys traveling and exploring, home improvement projects, spending time with family and friends, and staying involved in the communities where he works and lives.

Concert Bells

Jennifer created these unique bells for Tacoma Youth Symphony Association’s Shostakovich Symphony No. 11 performance.

We’re a little biased, but we think she’s talented in so many ways!

Bunco Night at Weddermann Architecture

Jennifer Weddermann donated a Bunco & Paella Evening to the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association’s Trivia Night! 28 people bought tickets and the event took place this past weekend.

Jennifer is TYSA’s Board President and was thrilled to host this fun night where we played 2 rounds of Bunco with prizes! Beer, wine and cosmos were flowing, plus paella, ceviche, and flan all made by Jennifer. Guests were also greeted with live music (thank-you Andrew!)

Most everyone told us they would be returning next year so we have a feeling that tickets will be in high demand at next year’s Trivia Night!

Bethlehem SteelStacks

Jennifer just visited her old stomping grounds and stopped by Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, home of the steel I-beam. These wide fl**ge beams were first produced in 1907 and make up much of modern day structures.

The steel I-beam is known for its strength while being relatively lightweight. Jennifer was able to capture beautiful shots of Bethlehem’s SteelStacks, a 10-acre campus dedicated to music, art and community gatherings on the former site of Bethlehem Steel.

Fun fact: Bethlehem steel workers actually became the first soccer team in our country. Jennifer has been working with The Puyallup Tribe to design containers for this year’s World Cup to be temporary structures for the parking lots which will serve as information and safety booths.

[The photos were so cool, we had to do a part 2!]
