There is something particularly satisfying about welcoming a customer back after 20 years.

Mr & Mrs Hanson first chose Shire Conservatories for replacement windows and a door around two decades ago.

When the original door eventually reached the point where replacement made more sense than repair, they came back to us.

This time, we also recommended a lower threshold. It has removed the previous step, made access easier and reduced the trip hazard, something they were particularly pleased with once the new door was fitted.

This is the sort of transformation that can completely change how you use your conservatory.

For this recent Shire Conservatories project, the existing structure has been upgraded with a Smart-Roof solid roof system, creating a room that should be far more comfortable to enjoy throughout the seasons.

We think the finished result speaks for itself. The tiled roof works particularly well with the bungalow, while the existing windows continue to bring plenty of natural light into the room.

If your conservatory spends too much of the year either too hot or too cold, replacing the roof could give you a much more usable room without starting from scratch.

A conservatory should be a room you enjoy using, not somewhere that becomes uncomfortable whenever the weather changes.

This recently completed Smart-Roof conversion shows how an existing conservatory can be given a new lease of life. By replacing the old roof with a properly insulated solid roof system, the aim is to create a more comfortable space that feels much more like part of the home throughout the year.

We particularly like how naturally the finished roof sits with the existing property. It looks like it belongs there rather than something that has simply been added afterwards.

Why did Mr & Mrs Evanson choose Shire Conservatories?

They wanted a local company, but being local alone wasn't enough.

After finding us on Facebook, they looked at feedback from previous customers and wanted confidence that whoever they chose would complete the work properly. They told us that our professional approach during the quotation process also helped them make their decision.

Price wasn't the deciding factor. Once they understood the amount of work involved in transforming their existing polycarbonate conservatory into a double-hip SupaLite tiled roof with a plastered ceiling, they felt the quotation represented good value.

From conservatory to a room that's properly part of the home.

Mr & Mrs Evanson's existing conservatory had a traditional polycarbonate roof, but they wanted to turn the space into somewhere they could enjoy far more often.

The transformation to a double-hip SupaLite tiled roof, complete with a fully plastered internal ceiling, has completely changed how the room looks and feels.

Once decorated, it will become their new reading and TV room, creating another comfortable living space to enjoy as part of their home.

For us, that's what a good conservatory transformation should achieve. It isn't simply about replacing a roof. It's about making much better use of space you already have.

Sometimes it's the finer details that make all the difference.

For this recent installation, our customer chose cream UPVC windows with leaded glass instead of standard white.

It was a subtle change, but one that completely transformed the appearance of the property, giving it a much more traditional cottage feel that complements the character of the home.

One of the first questions we ask isn't about the conservatory.

It's about how you use it.

The cheapest quote isn't always the cheapest decision.

When people invite Shire Conservatories to quote, we know they're not just looking for a price.

They're looking for advice they can trust.

Over the years, we've visited hundreds of homes where the obvious solution wasn't actually the right one.

Sometimes a customer has assumed they need a completely new conservatory, when a replacement roof would transform the space for a fraction of the cost.

Other times, we've advised against the cheaper option because we know it won't deliver the result they're hoping for.

That's why we've never believed a quotation should simply tell you what something costs.

The best recommendations don't come from advertising.

They come from family.

This recent installation came to us because we'd previously completed a garden room for the customer's father. He was so pleased with the experience that he recommended Shire Conservatories to his family.

From the first home visit through to the final installation, our team focused on exactly what we believe every customer deserves: honest advice, quality workmanship and clear communication.
