138 bespoke timber sash and case windows, manufactured in our Forfar workshop for Carolina Court - a Category B listed building in Dundee.

Working in partnership with Hillcrest, every window has been crafted to match the building’s original architectural features, while bringing modern thermal performance to the homes inside.

Conserving historic buildings and improving energy efficiency aren’t mutually exclusive - this project is proof of that.

The project is due for completion this autumn and we can’t wait to share the finished result!

Our Managing Director Alex recently travelled to the Brooking Collection in Cranleigh, Surrey - one of Britain’s most remarkable archives of historic windows, doors and architectural joinery, alongside Charlie Baxter of Alchemi Group and Charles Brooking, one of Britain’s leading historians of traditional windows and joinery.

Centuries of surviving windows, mouldings and glazing patterns, all preserved in one place. It was a powerful reminder of what’s at stake when historic buildings aren’t treated with the care they deserve.

We were proud to donate a number of historic Scottish arched sash windows - carefully recovered during our work at Inverness Castle to the collection. They’ll now be used as an educational resource for architects, conservators, students and craftspeople studying Scotland’s historic window traditions alongside examples from across Britain.

We’re also currently making a traditional Scottish window specifically for the collection - a real, working example of how Scotland’s architectural heritage can be faithfully reproduced today.

Scotland’s built heritage deserves to be represented. We’re glad to play a part in making sure it is.
